The summer season is under way and with this in mind, we have created a series of blog posts highlighting the best treatments, which will have long-lasting effects well after the event is over.
For our first blog post, we thought we would focus on wedding prep, whether you are getting married in the UK or further afield ( or if you are a guest, you may want to check out some of these pointers too!). The benefit to this is everything from adding confidence on the day to having fewer things to worry about in the run-up closer to the day.
There are links to our favourite treatments, including those available at our clients’ clinics, to give you a better idea of what is available.
Establish a consistent routine to improve your skin: Start with a basic routine of cleansing, toning, moisturising, and SPF, and exfoliate 1-2 times per week.Â
Professional Beauty Treatments:
Facials and treatments like chemical peels or microneedling can be beneficial, but should be done several months in advance to allow for skin recovery. This is the time to build a relationship with a medically led clinic that will create a bespoke package for you. For example, Clearlift is the perfect example of a non-invasive treatment that only needs 3-6 appointments, which is available at our client Pulse Laser Aesthetics Clinic.
If you have acne or other skin concerns, incorporate gentle retinol and salicylic acid treatments several months before the wedding. Pulse Laser Aesthetics Clinic has a series of treatments that minimise acne scarring, providing smooth and clear skin for your big day and after.
Visit your dentist:
There are going to be a lot of smiles on your wedding day. Here is the perfect opportunity to focus on treatments like Invisalign. Dr Sandra Garcia Martin can assist there; she is a highly experienced cosmetic dentist who is based in London. She specialises in all aspects of dentistry and is passionate about creating beautiful smiles, using cutting-edge cosmetic dentistry techniques. She is one of the very few dentists who practice the DSD (digital smile design) concept approach, a highly effective cosmetic procedure and is a perfect addition to wedding preparations.
Simplify Your Routine: Focus on gentle cleansing, hydration, and sun protection. Exfoliate gently. If you are already exfoliating, continue with a gentle routine, but avoid over-exfoliating.Â
Do not introduce new products or treatments to avoid potential irritation or breakouts. At this point, if you are having a course of treatments, you should be almost finished. Remember as well to hydrate. Drink plenty of water and consider using a hydrating mist throughout the day, or maybe consider Skin Boosters.
Injectables, threads and fillers:
Remember to give plenty of time for these to settle, you may need a top-up or a second appointment, facial harmonisation is key over drastic changes.
Finalising smile makeovers:
By now, your treatment is settled with just the final tweaks to focus on, should it be Invisalign or cosmetic dentistry, and itâs time to add teeth whitening to your preparation plan, perfecting your smile for all those photos!
Double Cleanse:Â Remove makeup and impurities with a gentle balm cleanser followed by a gel cleanser.Â
Hydrate and Soothe:Â Apply a hydrating serum, moisturiser, and face oil to replenish the skin.Â
Facial Massage:Â Consider a facial massage to boost circulation and reduce puffiness; this could be something as simple as an Obagi Facial.
Preparation is key. All of the above is not set in stone, but it makes for a smoother day and less stress.
